KATAHDIN – A BIRDING HOTSPOT!
A well-loved spot on the Maine Birding Trail, the Katahdin area boasts many species of birds.
This week, head North – Your Wildlife Adventures await on the Katahdin Woods & Waters Scenic Byway.
According to the Katahdin Area Chamber of Commerce, there are approximately 175 different species of bird species in the Katahdin Area. “Boreal species including, American Three-Toed Woodpecker, Black-backed Woodpecker, Boreal Chickadee, Gray Jay, Cape May, Blackpoll and Bay-breasted Warblers, as well as Spruce Grouse and Bicknell’s Thrush are often the target species for birder’s who visit the area. ”
