One of the Interpretive panels along the Katahdin Woods & Waters Scenic Byway talks about the old Patten House in Patten, Maine – In addition to a booming lumber industry, the Katahdin region was seen as a “Sportsman’s paradise” and tourists from far away arrived in large numbers at the Patten Junction Railroad Station to experience the “Great Outdoors”. While the train station is no longer in service, folks continue to come and visit our region. Welcome and see you on the Katahdin Woods and Water Scenic Byway – Visit Maine!
