Theriault Flies
Alvin Theriault has tied flies for over 35 years and his shop in Stacyville (on the Katahdin Woods & Waters Scenic Byway) is filled with countless natural and synthetic materials, furs, hackles, feathers, racks of tools, vices, threads and more. For anyone interested in fly fishing, Alvin is the person to see.
It’s always a good idea to call the store (207) 365-4007 ahead to let Alvin know you’re on your way. The store is usually open from 8 am to 8 pm. Call for weekend hours.

NEARBY ON THE BYWAY
Views from Ash Hill
Right on the Scenic Byway (Route 11), just a few miles South of Patten Maine, on what is known as “Ash Hill”, there is a spectacular view of Mount Katahdin and the area. There’s a small but safe area to park so make sure to stop! Google Map Link
SHERMAN – “OLD ZACK” Pre-civil war canon
Just South of Patten on Route 11, take a small detour to visit the town of Sherman (incorporated in 1862). Behind the historic church, you will find both a War Memorial and “Old Zack”, a pre-civil war canon that was used for many years to tell people in the vicinity about big news such as victories, etc. Google Map Link
